Hornaday
Gears
Up
for
Michigan:
Ron
Hornaday
has
found
some
success
at
Michigan
International
Speedway
(MIS)
in
his
four
Truck
Series
starts
at
the
2-mile
oval
with
three
top-10
finishes.
Going
into
this
weekend’s
Cool
City
Customs
200,
Hornaday’s
best
finish
at
MIS
came
in
2006
when
he
finished
seventh.
Fourteen
Down,
Eight
to
Go:
Ron
Hornaday
has
visited
Victory
Lane
at 14
of
the
22
tracks
on
the
NASCAR
Truck
Series
schedule.
The
eight
tracks
where
he
has
yet
to
win
are:
Daytona,
California,
Martinsville,
Michigan,
Nashville,
Gateway,
Las
Vegas
and
Talladega.
Leading
the
Way
Every
Day:
After
last
week’s
race
at
Texas
Motor
Speedway,
Ron
Hornaday
has
led
at
least
one
lap
in
all
nine
Truck
Series
races
in
the
2008
season.
He
leads
the
series
this
season
in
total
laps
led
with
414.
Hornaday
also
leads
the
series
in
bonus
points
earned
with
60,
which
has
helped
him
take
the
lead
in
the
Truck
Series
driver’s
point
standings.
Tire
Changer’s
Injury
Minor:
Gary
Labretone,
front
tire
changer
on
the
No.
33
Camping
World
Chevrolet
Silverado
team,
sustained
an
ankle
sprain
last
Friday
night
during
the
team’s
final
pit
stop
in
the
Sam’s
Town
400K
at
Texas
Motor
Speedway.
Labretone
jumped
in
excitement
after
the
team’s
stop
put
Ron
Hornaday
in
the
lead
exiting
pit
road
and
landed
awkwardly
as he
came
down.
He
was
taken
to
the
infield
care
center
and
returned
to
the
pit
stall
in
time
to
celebrate
the
win
with
the
team.
Labretone’s
status
for
this
week
is
unknown,
but
alternate
changer
Tim
Sanders
will
be
suited
up
and
ready
if
needed.
Chassis
024
to
Run
at
Michigan:
Crew
chief
Rick
Ren
made
the
decision
early
last
week
that
he
would
take
Chassis
024
to
Michigan
as
long
as it
made
it
through
last
week’s
Sam’s
Town
400K
unscathed.
Not
only
did
the
truck
survive,
but
it
was
parked
in
Victory
Lane
at
the
end
of
the
night
for
the
second
time
in
2008.
Ron
Hornaday
also
drove
this
truck
to
victory
at
Kansas
Speedway
in
April.

Quotes
From
Ron
Hornaday:
On
racing
at
Michigan:
“I’ve
had a
couple
of
good
runs
at
Michigan.
We
finished
in
the
top
10
the
past
two
races
there.
Michigan
is a
lot
like
California
as
far
as
the
layout,
but
for
some
reason
it
doesn’t
drive
like
California
does.
I
think
we
may
have
learned
some
things
over
the
past
couple
of
races
at
Michigan
that
can
make
us
better
this
time
so
we’ll
just
have
to go
out
see
what
we
have
in
practice.
I
know
Rick
Ren
(crew
chief)
and
the
guys
will
get
the
truck
where
it
needs
to be
for
us to
run
good.”

Quotes
From
Rick
Ren:
On
racing
at
Michigan:
“We
struggled
last
year
at
Michigan,
but
I’m
looking
forward
to
going
back
to
make
ourselves
better.
The
track
is
very
demanding
on a
driver
because
it’s
so
hard
to
get
good
grip.
It’s
one
of
those
tracks
where
you
have
to
drive
just
right
and
all
your
set-ups
have
to
match.
I’m
planning
on
taking
the
same
truck
we
won
with
at
Kansas
and
Texas
so
hopefully
our
momentum
will
carry
over
to
Michigan
and
we
can
put
together
a
solid
run.”
