As I first showed up in the mid-way, searching for those Hornaday collectables, I found a group of fans searching as-well. It's not like you could miss them as they adorned their ACDelco/Hornaday wear. Bob, Marie, Cherri, Robin, Barb W, and even the infamous "TomWho" were all cruising around together as I meet up with them at Phoenix International Raceway. Fans, Friends and Family is what the RHFC is all about and it really showed at that moment. Photos, conversation and a walk around the track to the infield. (we really didn't walk, we used golf carts and bike taxis)

Meeting up with AV Press reporter Brian Golden was a real treat for the fans. We also ran into the Winston West driver Scott Lynch and the fans were able to see the "Two Scott Lynch's" in the same-place-at-the-same-time.  Scott said it was great to meet everyone and crush the theory that there is only one Scott Lynch.

Evening came and it was time to party. The meeting was a great success, with fans meeting each other for the first time and putting a face with a name from The Board. "We talk all the time, know allot about each other, but just meeting for the first time." commented a fan as the party began with food and conversation.

Before Ron showed up, the fans were joined by "Jack", yes, Jack was out of his box... "Who is that?", "Is That Ron?", "Who said Hornaday don't know Jack?"... as the Jack head came off.... we all found it was Jim Harkness, Ron's brother-in-law.  Jim was a great help in Ron's career over the years as-well-as launching RonHornaday.com.

Tony Rizzuti was the MC and introduced the "2 Crew" to the fans along with Ron's family and members of ACDelco and RonHornaday.com.  As Tony talked with fans holding a "Question & Answer" session with the fans and members of the "2 Crew", Ron gave everyone his own "Shock and Aw" as he ripped open the back of the tent and let Tony know he was tiered of standing out back, waiting to come in and hang with his fans.

Once Ron was in the tent, he fund his way around giving out special hugs as he spoke with the crowd. Many people from the spread of Ron's career were in attendance including members from the Palmdale Chiropractor family, Gary and Nancy Johnson, and ACDelco to name a few. Fans from Ron's days of running at Saugus Speedway, The Truck Days, and even NEW fans were all chatting with Ron about the past and current happenings.

Ron and The "2 Crew" sat as the fans lined up for autographs.  The fans received a Ron Hornaday/ACDelco poster signed by Ron and the crew, and Ron signed collectables for about an hour including taking the  call from "Molly from Texas" who was unable to attend.  All-In-All it was a great gathering with some of the greatest people on earth !

Ron, Lindy, and myself would like to say a special thanks Collette, Leah and Sarah. You are three special ladies...  What would we have done with-out-you !?!?
