Ft. Worth, TX - Ron Hornaday, Jr., No. 33 Camping World Silverado, stayed solidly in the hunt for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) championship with a fourth place finish in the Sam's Town 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.
After dominating the majority of the race and leading the most laps, a late race fuel stop under caution sent the two-time NCTS champion to pit road with the leaders coming out fifth with under 10-laps remaining.
A final caution leading to a green-white-checkered finish gave the all-time NCTS race winner one more shot at retaking the lead, but he would come up short to finish fourth.
Hornaday sits 82 points out of the lead as Team Chevy Silverado heads to Michigan International Speedway for the Michigan 200 on June 16, 2007.
You guys had a good lead there and then found yourselves playing catch up.
"The Camping World Chevy Silverado was awesome. I tell you these guys are unbelievable. We were down and out in practice and what do they do, they dialed it in for the race. And Danny over here to the left of me, he found the problem again and we were just unbelievable fast again and we just misjudged the fuel mileage. We were just talking about pitting and Rick Ren told me that the fourteen was going to pit and we were just going to see who was taking tires and we were going to come in that lap and probably take tires. But…darn, you just can’t win them all and our Silverado was fast, and we’re happy to have Camping World on board and I just have to thank Kevin and Delana for giving me this opportunity to drive something like this.”
