HORNADAY BACK IN THE #32 WINFUEL CHEVY AT IRP

MOORESVILLE, NC (August 2, 2005) – The last time Ron Hornaday was behind the wheel of the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet at the Milwaukee Mile, he led 35 laps and ran up front for most of the race, until a miscue on a pit stop and a rain shortened event resulted in a 15th place finish. This weekend at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Hornaday and the Braun Racing / WINFUEL team look to put together a flawless performance.

“I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the #32 WINFUEL Chevy this weekend, especially since we are racing at IRP,” Hornaday said. “The WINFUEL team has given me fast, competitive cars each of the three times that I’ve driven for them this season, but we seem to have had our share of bad luck. Hopefully this weekend we can put it all together and take the WINFUEL Chevy to Victory Lane.”

Ron Hornaday is no stranger to Victory Lane at IRP where he has captured two wins, including a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win in 1997 and Busch Series win in 2000.  In Hornaday’s five NASCAR Busch Series starts at IRP, he has finished in the top-10 three times (2000, 2002, 2003).

“I get excited when we go to IRP because it is a track that I feel very comfortable on and it is one of my favorite tracks,” the veteran short-track ace said. “I know that I should run well every time that I am there. Racing on short tracks is a lot of fun and I love the aggressive style that it takes to get around other cars on the track.”

“The kind of aggressive driving that will take place this weekend is the kind of racing that reminds me of the earlier days in my career. When I used to run at Saugus Speedway, you had to make your own holes to pass, and that is the style of driving that got me to where I am today.”

Before climbing behind the wheel of the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet, Ron Hornaday will take care of his full-time job as driver of the #6 GM Goodwrench truck when he competes in Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Power Stroke Diesel 200.

Then on Saturday night under the lights, short-track ace Ron Hornaday will be back behind the wheel of the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet as the Braun Racing team competes in one of the most exciting short track races of the season at Indianapolis Raceway Park.  Live coverage of the Kroger 250 begins this Saturday, August 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
