HORNADAY TO
DRIVE THE #32 WINFUEL CHEVROLET IN THE MUSIC CITY
MOORESVILLE, NC (June 8,
2005) – Many things have changed at Braun Racing in less than
a week, but one important thing remains, the team’s dedication
to winning in the NASCAR Busch Series. This weekend the Braun
Racing team returns to Nashville Superspeedway where Ron
Hornaday will drive the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet on Saturday
night under the lights.
“The WINFUEL Chevrolet is a
great car and I’m happy to have the opportunity to help out
not only another Chevy team, but some good friends of mine as
well,” Hornaday said. “I really love racing in all levels of
NASCAR competition, and honestly I just want to race as much
as I can. The Busch Series is a very competitive series and I
know that the Braun Racing guys will give me a car capable of
competing for wins. I look forward to working with Todd Lohse
and the crew to get the WINFUEL Chevy running up front.”
Braun Racing recorded one of
its best finishes of the season earlier this year when the #32
WINFUEL Chevy finished third at Nashville in March. Driver Ron
Hornaday has competed in six Busch Series races at Nashville
Superspeedway, where he recorded his best finish (5th) in this
same event last June.
“Nashville is one of those
tracks where I have a decent record, but I feel like we have
always struggled for some reason,” Hornaday explained. “I
finished fifth in the Busch race there this time last year, so
hopefully we can improve on that with the #32 WINFUEL Chevy. I
look forward to going to Nashville every year because the city
is cool and there are always so many things to do, plus the
music that comes from there is awesome. It would really be
great to be able to add a guitar to my trophy collection, and
that’s my goal for this weekend with the WINFUEL team.”
Braun Racing has confirmed
that Ron Hornaday will also handle the driving duties in the
WINFUEL Chevrolet later this month at the Milwaukee Mile,
where Hornaday is the defending Busch Series race winner. Chad
Blount, currently third in ARCA points with two wins in the
first seven races, will drive the #32 WINFUEL Chevy next
weekend at Kentucky Speedway where he finished second in the
ARCA event last month.
While the WINFUEL team is
preparing to race in Nashville, Ron Hornaday’s weekend of
competition will begin in the Lone Star State. Hornaday will
try to put his #6 GM Goodwrench truck in victory lane at Texas
Motor Speedway on Friday night, before flying to Nashville to
qualify and race the WINFUEL Chevy on Saturday. Live coverage
of the Federated Auto Parts 300 from Nashville Superspeedway
beings this Saturday, June 11 on FX at 7:30 pm ET.
