With Greg Biffle’s Winston Cup Series rookie status nearing its danger point, Ron Hornaday will take over the seat of the No. 55 Schneider Electric Chevy for Andy Petree Racing for this weekend’s EA Sports 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Hornaday is certainly no rookie, and relishes

the chance to drive the No. 55 Chevy. He’s a Busch Series regular, driving the No. 26 Carroll Racing Chevy, but has made some spot Winston Cup starts this season. He was a Winston Cup regular last year for A.J. Foyt Racing in the No. 14 Pontiac.

“Ron is a great choice for Talladega,” said Jimmy Elledge, crew chief for the No. 55 Chevy. “His experience and expertise behind the wheel of a race car will help us there. He’s had some good races there and tends to run pretty strong everywhere he goes. That place (Talladega) just takes someone who has been there and felt the strain it can put on drivers.
