Pennzoil 400
Notes & Quotes

“I’ve been saving 1412 for this race because it ran so well at Indy.  This car was built to run on the flat, high-speed ovals.  Homestead is a lot like Indy in many ways.  Ron really like the car and sometimes that makes all the difference in the world.”
–Donnie Brown, Team Conseco Crew Chief

Team Conseco will use chassis 1412 this weekend in the Pennzoil 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.  This car was new at the Brickyard 400 this year and since that time has only raced at Michigan International Speedway.

Since the Homestead facility was reconfigured for the 1998 season, Hornaday has raced on the 1.5-mile track in the Craftsman Truck Series in 1998, 1999, and in the Busch Series in 2000.  This weekend’s event marks the first time Hornaday will compete at the track as a Winston Cup Series driver.
