TIME TO PUT SOME DRIVE IN YOUR COUNTRY
a MotorsportsWeb EXTRA
April 12th, 2002 -  NASCAR hits Nashville this week-end, when the Busch Series drivers take-on the Nashville Superspeedway.

This becomes a little closer to the "norm" for MotorsportsWeb.com.  Country Music and Auto Racing is an everyday affair for the MotorsportsWeb family.

MotorsportsWeb.com became a part of Nashville when teaming up with Nashville recording artist Kent Gray and his daughter Sarah Jo. Kent and his family are Southern California natives and lived in Saugus before re-locating to the home of country music. "I remember watching Ron Hornaday racing Dan Press at Saugus Speedway", commented Kent Gray, "Now, I get to watch him on my TV".

Myself -"I grew up listening to Kent sing, and watching Ron race. To work with Ron and Kent is great,  I also work with their kids as-well. I first heard Sarah sing when she was only 7 years old, and I saw Ronnie 3 running his first season at KCR. I guess it's a little bonus to have watched them before they moved on to the bigger and better things.  It goes to show, they didn't forget where they came from, I'm still on the west coast".

This week-end, Hornaday visits the home of country music's Superspeedway for the first time to run in The Pepsi 300, which can be seen live on FOX at 3 p.m et on Saturday.

Before and after the race, Hornaday can listen to great country music on Nashville's Live 95 WSM-FM / 650 WSM-AM  featuring shows like "The Grand Ole' Opry Live" and catch the sounds of Sarah Jo Gray, such as her hit "Oklahoma Home". "I grew up on Rock 'n Roll, and now I find myself listening to country more then any-thing else", Hornaday said. "I really like the stuff Travis Tritt puts out".

Makes me wonder if Team GMAC will play some hot country sounds in-to Ron's helmet while he's on the track ?  Travis Tritt's "Put Some Drive In Your Country" would be a good-one to take the green flag too !?!?

So strap on those seatbelts Nashville, it's time for a taste of the west as Ron Hornaday takes a little more then just  "2-steps" in-to town !
