May
24th, 2002 -
In only his
third time
out in the
#26 Carroll
Racing
Chevrolet,
Ron Hornaday
showed that
Dr Pepper
can start up
front.
With
a lap time
of 29.655
sec. at a
top speed of
182.094
m.p.h., Hornaday
grabbed the
poll for the
Car Quest
300 at
Lowe's Motor
Speedway, in
Charlotte
N.C.

Saturday.
"Right
off the
truck this
car was
great. These
guys at
Carroll
Racing do
great work
with great
equipment.
We went out,
and came
back in and
changed four
shocks and I
didn't like
it, so we
went back to
what we came
with,
and.... Hey,
did you know
were on the
pole ?"
After
a seasons
best finish
last week,
third at
Nazareth
Speedway,
Hornaday had
a positive
feeling
about the
team effort
at Carroll
Racing.
"I
can't say
enough about
Dave Carroll
and his
organization.
These guys
give 110%
and then
they get to
work."
Hornaday
has been
working with
BAM Racing
and their
Winston Cup
program and
will be
running in
the 600
Sunday night
as-well.
"I hope
to have good
notes for
both teams,
and get
positive
results in
the garage
and out on
the
track."
