Hornaday
previously
drove for
BAM Racing
at the
Winston
Open and
Coca-Cola
Racing
Family 600
at Lowe's
Motor
Speedway
in May.
The team,
along with
Hornaday,
went to
Daytona
International
Speedway
back in
June to
test the
#49 Dodge
for the
Pepsi 400
NASCAR
Winston
Cup Series
race on
July 6 for
driver
Shawna
Robinson.
Robinson
qualified
27th and
finished
40th after
her car
suffered
rear end
failure.
"They
have a lot
of talent
over here
(at BAM)
and I just
want to
see them
be
successful
and
competitive."
stated
Hornaday.
"Having
more track
time will
also help
us at
Carroll
Racing
with the
Busch
Series
program."
Hornaday
is no
stranger
to Double
Duty.
In 2001,
while
running a
full Cup
Series
schedule
for racing
legend AJ
Foyt,
Hornaday
ran
several
races for
Armando
Fitz, and
Curb-Agajanian
Motorsports
in the
Busch
Series.
"I
love to
race, it's
as simple
as
that",
commented
Hornaday.
"It's
me, I am a
race car
driver and
the more
races the
better
!"

Teddy
Brown
has
resigned
as Crew
Chief for
the team.
Brown
said,
"I
have
enjoyed
working
with the
BAM
organization
but I
wanted
to explore
some other
options.
"Team
General
Manager,
Eddie
Jones,
stated,
"We
wish Teddy
the best
of luck in
the
future, he
worked
hard and
guided the
team
effectively."
The team
will
compete
this
weekend in

BAM
Racing -
Pre-Race
Report :
Ron
Hornaday
has
competed
in both
the NASCAR
Busch and
Winston
Cup Series
races at
the
Chicagoland
Speedway.
He started
22nd and
finished
16th in
the Busch
Series
race and
started
the 16th
in the
Winston
Cup race,
only to
have
a top-5
run end
with
engine
failure
and a 40th
place
finish.
Hornaday
admits the
track
presents
unique
challenges
but
believes
he and the
BAM Racing
Dodge are
ready for
battle.
According
to
Hornaday,
"It
is a fast
race track
that only
had one
racing
groove
last year,
so track
position
really
paid off.
I am
hoping by
the time
we start
the race
on Sunday,
that we
will be
able to
run two
grooves,
which will
make for
some great
racing.
So it
should be
a pretty
tough
race. I
like this
racetrack
and know
that this
BAM Racing
Team is
capable of
finishing
in the
top-15, so
I am
really
looking
forward to
getting to
Chicago
this
weekend."
Bud Pole
Qualifying
is set to
begin at
3:05 p.m.
EST on
Friday,
July 12th.
The green
flag drops
at 1:30
p.m. EST
on Sunday,
July 14th
and will
be
televised
live on
NBC and
broadcast
live on
MRN radio.
