Aug. 14th - "I'm pretty happy.  We needed to come up here and test and find out what this Pontiac needed for brakes. All in all it was a good day for this Team Conseco crew. Now we are focused on Michigan." - Ron

Aug. 12th - After starting 17th, Ron and The Team Conseco Pontiac remained in the top 20 most of the race. Running an average green flag lap time of 114 mph, and a mere 15 sec. behind the leaders, Ron carved the corners of the Glen to place 17th.

Aug. 10th - Ron and the Team Conseco Pontiac will start 17th in the Global Crossing @ The Glen, after a qualifying lap of 72.938 at the speed of 120.9246 mph

“Watkins Glen is a great place to race.  It has elevation changes, blind corners and long straights.  You’ve got to have a car that handles through the esses and the inner loop, as well as run down the straights if you want to be competitive at The Glen.”
–Ron Hornaday, Team Conseco Driver

Team Conseco will use chassis 1409 this weekend in the Global Crossing @ The Glen at Watkins Glen International.  This is a new road course car built earlier this year.  In the opening laps of practice at Sears Point, a brake failure sent the car into the tire barrier.

Ron Hornaday is no stranger to the winner’s circle at Watkins Glen.  He won the
Bully Hill 150 Craftsman Truck Series event in 1996, leading 41 of 62 laps during the race.
