Sept.
2, - On
lap 57 a car
hit the wall
in front of
Ron and as
he was
avoiding the
crash he was
hit from
behind and
spun towards
the inside
wall, but
never made
contact.
With a flat
left front
Ron took the
car in-to
the pits and
the Team
Conseco Crew
went to work
on the #14
Foyt Racing
Pontiac. Ron
brought the
car out two
laps down in
42nd.
Ron kept the Team Conseco Pontiac out of trouble until lap 359 of 367. "It seemed a car hit the rear of the Conseco Pontiac and Ron went in-to the wall and then spun to the inside" stated MotorsportsWeb's Scott Lynch. "This team just can't catch a break, maybe we'll get'em at Richmond". “Unbelievable,”
Ron said
after the
race. ”I
don’t know
what we have
to do to get
some luck.
These guys
work as hard
as any team
out here. We
have run
well during
races, we
just can’t
seem to turn
the corner
and have a
day where we
don’t have
all these
problems.
For some
reason we
just keep
getting
caught up in
other
driver’s
deals… I
don’t
know,
we’ll be
back next
week at
Richmond and
go for it
again. If
there is one
thing I
know, it’s
that Team
Conseco
never gives
up.” Sept. 1, - Team Conseco will be using chassis 1412 this week-end at Darlington Raceway. The last time at "The Track To Tough To Tame" Hornaday was running in the 27th position on lap 115 when he and Todd Bodine made contact sending the Conseco Pontiac into the outside wall.
